Saturday, December 29, 2007three weeks oldmilo had another big week. we celebrated his first christmas, his grandpa was in town, he went on several outings, and his parents got engaged! (follow that link to read matt's account of how he proposed. i might be biased, but it's the most tender engagement story i've ever heard. eat your heart out, ladies.)  not much has changed in our daily routine. milo still sleeps a lot, of course, and we try and sleep with him when we can.  personally, i think that the real difference in milo is his face. it's gotten much longer and less chubby since his birth, when it was basically just a round ball perched atop his neck. he looks more like an infant every day and less like a newborn. see for yourself: milo on the day he was born:  milo yesterday:  matt says i'm crazy whenever i say that his face has changed so much, but no one spends more hours than i do gazing into that gorgeous mug, so i should know! the newest development in milo's life is that we used an amazon gift card that louise's gym friends sent milo to buy milo a moby wrap, and it arrived today and already, we are so very pleased with our purchase. i had sewn some ring slings for carrying milo around in, and they are great for putting him in when he's already asleep, but he wouldn't tolerate being put in the sling when awake. with the wrap, he's equally happy to be snuggled against us while asleep or awake, and if i need him to fall asleep, i just slip him in the wrap and bounce up and down on my exercise ball for a few minutes and bam, he is out in minutes, and in a deep sleep. we knew that we wanted to try a moby soon, but probably would have put off buying it had it not been for the gift card, so thanks very much to weezie's gym pals! i'm sure there will be plenty of pictures of milo in his wrap in the weeks to come. we were really sad that milo's gam was too sick to come visit with his grandpa this week, but we know that she will visit soon, and she will get plenty of milo hugs and will be glad that she was in peak physical condition to enjoy her visit and her grandson! milo's aunt melissa arrives on monday and i'm so excited that i might fall over! expect lots of pictures!

i saw your ring today and i didn't want to ask b/c it was crazy already, what with changing the poopy dipe and all...YAY! congrats. happiness will follow you wherever you go.
