Saturday, November 1, 2008eleven months oldmilo is nearly eleven months old! it's hard to believe. we have been in texas for a whole month now, and he is developing at breakneck speed. just in the last two weeks, milo has said his first word ("up! up! up!") and learned to stand! he's also started to mimic us in all of the games that we play with him, doing his own version of peek-a-boo and throwing his arms up to show us that he's "SO big!" my prediction is that he'll be walking within the next two weeks. we're so excited to see what he learns next. here is milo right before we left portland, eating cereal in his high chair:   here he is in the car on the drive down to texas, with jimmy's paw on his head:  here's milo "cooking" with his granddad on his first morning in texas:  i made dinner for my parents' 43rd wedding anniversary, and my mom took this photo of us around the dinner table:  my dad built this toy chest for milo from scratch and milo loves it!  there are reproductions of stonehenge and the easter island statues a short distance from my parents' house, so we went and took photos with them:  in addition to all of this, we've taken two short trips to austin, where milo has gotten to spend lots of time with friends and even with some other babies! we're having a really wonderful time and are so glad that milo is getting lots of time with my parents. he's definitely benefitting from it, and we're thrilled to have the help. the next update will be after his first birthday!
